Typical Sump and Pump System
- 24'' to 48'' manholes are used for inspection and flow measurement
- 6' to 8' diameter sumps are used when gravity outlet of sufficient depth is not available
- submersible pumps sized accordingly to anticipated flows are installed with automatic level controls
- smaller structures may be used for temporary facilities
- Inlets to sumps and manholes are cored at required elevations
- this provides a clean accurate hole to mortar pipe into
- pipe is connected above ground, ahead of trencher, providing a continuous supply of pipe.
- pipe is fed into trench boot were it is encased in gravel and set on desired gauge
